Belonging
= acceptance as a natural member or part. It is the state of being accepted and comfortable in a place or group.
German: Zugehörigkeit
= Akzeptanz als ein natürlicher Teil. Es ist der Zustand, akzeptiert und zugehörig zu einem Ort oder einer Gruppe zu sein.
Culture =refers to the customs, practices, languages, values and world views that define social groups such as those based on nationality, ethnicity, region or common interests
German: Kultur
= bezieht sich aud die Sitten, Praktiken, Sprachen, Wert und Weltanschauung, die eine soziale Gruppe definieren, basierend z.B. auf Nationalität, Ethnie, Religion oder gemeinsame Interessen.Culture Shock
= feeling of disorientation or confusion, discomfort and uncertainty that often occurs when a person leaves a familiar place and moves into an unfamiliar environment
There are 5 stages:
1.) excitement and fascination with the new culture
--> everything is new and you overlook minor problems
2.) Crisis period/ Cultural Shock Stage
--> excitement turns to disappointment
--> problems start to be overwhelming and irritating
3.) Adjustment phase
--> slowly understanding of the new culture
--> you learn to accept the culture and change you negative attitude
4.) Acceptance and Adaption phase
--> you feel home and become involved in activities
--> you may enjoy some of the country's customs
5.) Re-entry shock
-->when you return to your home country you see your own culture with more critical eyes

Gefühl von Disorientierung, Verwirrung und Ungewissheit, was auftritt wenn eine Peropn ihre vertraute Umgebung verlässt und auf eine andere, fremde Kultur treffen.
Es gibt fünf Stadien:
1.) Begeisterung und Faszination
-->Alles ist neu und aufregend
2.) Phase des Kulturschocks
--> die Begeisterung schlägt um in Enttäuschung; Probleme werden unermesslich
3.) Ordnungsphase
--> die neue Kultur wird langsam verstanden und man lernt, Unterschiede zu akzeptieren
4.) Akzeptanz und Anpassung
--> Gefühl von Zuhause stellt sich ein; man integriert sich in das Alltagsleben und in kulturelle Aktivitäten
5.) Wiedereintreten des Schocks
--> beim Zurückkommen in die eigene Kultur
--> man sieht die eigene Kultur sehr kritisch und hinterfragt Vieles
Diversity
= the understanding that each individual is unique. It includes the concept of cultural diversity. It is a range of different societies or peoples with different origins, religions and traditions all living and interacting together. It is all about understanding each other and moving beyond simple tolerance to embrace and celebrate the rich dimension of diversity contained within each individual
German: Vielfalt
=die Auffassung dass jedes Individuum einzigartig ist. Es beinhaltet auch das Konzept der kulturellen Vielfalt. Es umfasst verschiedene Gesellschaften und Volksgruppen mit unterschiedlicher Herkunft, Religion und Tradition , die alle zusammen leben und interagieren. Dabei geht es darum, die anderen zu verstehen und wegzugehen von der einfachen Toleranz, hin zur Wahrnehmung und Celebrieren der Vielfältigkeit, die in jedem Individuum enthalten ist.
Globalisation
= a worlwide movement towards economic, financial, trade and communication integration that has effects on the environment, culture, political systems, economic development and prosperity as well an on human physical well-being in societies around the world

=eine weltweite Bewegung hin zu wirtschaftlicher, finanzieller und kommunikativer Integration, die Einfluss hat auf die Umwelt, Kultur, politische Systeme, wirtschaftliche Entwicklung und Wohlstand, aber auch auf die medizinische Entwicklung auf der ganzen Welt
